MICHAEL TAYLOR

REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER

Michael is a supportive and empathic individual who takes a non-judgmental approach in his practice assisting people overcome personal challenges and guiding them to positive outcomes. Michael believes in creating a climate of trust through relationship building where the client and therapist work collaboratively to set and achieve goals. One of Michael’s objectives is to create a warm and open environment to build trust and communication leading to healing and personal growth. 

Michael graduated from Georgian College with an Honour’s Diploma in Social Service Work and went on to graduate with an Honour’s Degree in Social Work at Laurentian University. Michael has a passion for learning that he applies to his work with clients. Michael is registered with The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and has a varied background working with individuals with emotional and psychological concerns such as addiction, disabilities, anxiety, depression, and grief. Michael employs a person-centered strength-based approach applying evidence-based practices such as Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients overcome self-defeating thoughts and behaviours. Michael values compassion, transparency, integrity, and respect that he applies in his work and personal life.
