Social Worker
Position Available: 1 Punjabi speaking Clinical Social Worker
Status: Part Time – hours are flexible
Education: Master of Social Work degree
Location: Brampton

Specific Focus:
We need people who can provide the following services:
-
Fluency in Punjabi
- Client Centred Individual, Couple, Family or group Counselling
-
Work with Children and Youth dealing with multiple issues
-
Able to provide brief, solution focused work with clients
-
Assessment and counselling for survivors of car accidents dealing with anxiety, grief, trauma and chronic pain
-
Able to work with victims of crime
-
Facilitate South Asian specific support group for survivors of cancer
-
Comfortable educating, training and presenting materials to various different professionals
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 3-5 years direct counselling experience
-
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of counselling skills and theory as it relates to children, youth couples and/or families
-
Training and experience in preferred modality e.g. CBT, Solution Focused, Critical Incident, Narrative, EMDR…
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently with complex cases
-
Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
-
Availability to work flexible hours (days, evenings or weekends)
-
Registered with the OCSWSSW
-
Clear vulnerable sector police check
-
Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
-
Excellent time management skills as it pertains to scheduling and paperwork

Responsibilities:
-
Provide clinical counselling to individuals, couples or families
-
Create treatment plans
-
Facilitate South Asian specific support group for survivors of cancer

Write reports as required within require timeframe
- Facilitate training or educational workshops as required
Note:
We are looking for qualified therapists to work directly with clients. Work will be offered on a case by case basis, dependent on availability.

Psychologist
Status: Part Time – 10-20 hours per week
Education: Registered Psychologist
Location: Brampton / Mississauga, Hamilton / Niagara and surrounding areas
Specific Focus We need people who can provide some or all of the following services
- Provide individual, couple or family counselling based on the need of the client
- Work with children and youth dealing with multiple issues
- Provide individual counselling to traumatized survivors of car accidents
Qualifications
- 5 years direct counselling experience – minimum
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of counselling skills and theory as it relates to individuals (children, youth or adults), couples and/or families
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with complex cases
- Availability to work flexible hours (days, evenings or weekends)
- Registered with appropriate regulatory board
- Clear vulnerable sector police check
- Currently have, or eligible for, Professional Liability Insurance
- Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to effectively deal with conflict
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Access to a computer and e-mail
Responsibilities
- Report to the Director of Clinical Services
- Provide clinical counselling to individuals, couples or families
- Create treatment plans
- Write clinical summaries and case reviews as needed
We are looking for qualified Clinical Psychologists to work directly with clients. Work will be offered on a case by case basis, dependent on availability. Additional cases may be available if the therapist is able to travel.
