Alma Lennox is a Registered Social Worker and Therapist with 15+ years of experience providing recovery-based, holistic, and integrative approaches to assist and support people experiencing distress through client-focused and client-directed care. Alma has Extensive training and experience providing therapeutic counseling to people experiencing distress related to grief and loss, bereavement, care-giving, trauma, palliative and chronic illness, mental health recovery, academic and workplace challenges, disability, chronic pain, anti-oppression, family violence and VAW.
Experience in best practices within a gentle, responsive, non-pathologizing philosophy using narrative and solutions-based and brief-focused approaches that incorporate mindfulness, CBT, relaxation and visualization and DBT strategies aimed at reducing distress and difficult symptoms and enhancing coping and functioning.
Broad knowledge base of access issues: Policies, practices and legislation’s related to disabilities, workplace, academic, mental health, child welfare, and Social Service systems.

Qualifications: Alma has a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from York University and is registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and a member the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
