Darlene Artt – Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Darlene is a passionate and caring individual who offers compassion and empathy to children, youth, individuals, couples, and families, in a non-judgmental and culturally sensitive manner. She offers a strengths-based, person-centred approach to support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, family issues, and supports individuals and families suffering with serious mental health concerns such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and neurological issues.
Darlene incorporates cognitive behaviour therapy, family systems theory, narrative therapy, and brief solution focused therapies to help clients overcome mental health concerns. She also employs psychosocial therapies such as interpersonal and social rhythm therapy (IPSRT) to support serious mental health disorders and is working toward certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to reduce and often eliminate the effects of post-traumatic stress and anxiety.
Qualifications: Darlene holds a master’s degree in clinical counselling, is a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is a professional member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
