A registered Social Worker/Therapist with 26+ years of experience. Background includes child welfare, criminal justice and mental health. Experience in assessment and treatment services that are evidenced-informed, gender responsive and relationship focused. Extensive training and experience in therapeutic services for youth. Application of multi-modal interventions reflective of diverse and complex needs presented by clients.
Experience in cognitive-behavioural and dialectical interventions and modalities that are reflective of best practice approaches using ‘in-between’ session handouts and assignments such as journaling. Ian is skilled in providing assessment, treatment plans and interventions to youth as well as adults in individual and family settings. Making use of brief, solution-focused, emotion-focused, cognitive and dialectical behavioural, and mindfulness therapies.

Ian has done Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Physiology) from University of Western Ontario, Bachelor of Social Work from York University and Master of Social Work from University of Toronto. Ian also holds certifications in Addictions Counselling, Dispute Resolution, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – Level I (U. of T./OISE) and Clinical Supervision (U. of T.).
