Siu has beenSiu Lun Leung working in the mental health field since 2002 and is currently on staff at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener as a crisis clinician in the emergency department.
His professional responsibilities include undertaking bio-psychosocial and psychiatric assessment of incoming patients, intervention/discharge planning as well as providing short-term brief counseling. Prior to this role, Siu had attained considerable experiences as a case manager working in several community mental health agencies in Toronto and York region providing support (e.g. case management, vocational rehabilitation and housing and justice program) to clients with mental illnesses.
Siu takes on an eclectic approach to his social work practice, integrating CBT, DBT, ACT and solution-focused modalities. Siu strongly believes that every person can learn, make changes and grow and live life to their best of their abilities through counseling. Sui is fluent in both English and Cantonese.
Siu graduated with a BA in psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University and received his BSW and MSW at York University. Siu received his high diploma in Law and Administration in Hong Kong (equivalent to a bachelor degree in England) and worked several years in Hong Kong as a hospital administrator prior to coming to Canada.
