Developing resilience

The significance of resilience as a crucial skill to exhibit within professional settings is now acknowledged. In the progressively intricate landscape of the present-day work environment, the ability of both individuals and organizations to remain resilient emerges as a vital factor for achieving business prosperity. Consequently, this workshop designed for enhancing resilience through training is appropriate for all staff members.


Workshop Content:


Introduction and Aims – Setting the stage by defining workplace resilience and outlining the participants' training expectations and objectives.


The Significance of Resilience – Delving into the importance of resilience for individuals and examining the characteristics of resilient individuals.


Evaluating the participants' own resilience levels and their current strategies for tackling workplace challenges.


Constructive vs. Destructive Thinking – Analyzing a case study illustrating how negative thinking can escalate reactions to minor setbacks, impacting overall work approach.


Completing a questionnaire to determine participants' thinking patterns.


The Three Dimensions – Grasping the concepts of Permanence, Pervasiveness, and Personalization, along with the ability to rebound from adversity. Relating this back to the earlier questionnaire and prompting participants to pinpoint areas for growth.


Surmounting Negative Thinking – The ABC Technique – Exploring the Adversity, Beliefs, and Consequences framework and its role in overcoming negativity.


Introducing an exercise that encourages participants to reframe negative thoughts positively.


The Ladder of Inference – Uncovering the natural inclination to react based on past experiences and beliefs.


Encouraging participants to adopt a fact-based approach, avoiding personal interpretations.


Incorporating both exploration and personal experience identification.


Locus of Control – Examining the perspective of perceiving issues as either external occurrences or internal responses.


Introducing the model and engaging participants in an exercise to identify their own outlook,

along with tips for developing an internal locus of control.


Levels of Resilience – Investigating the interplay between individual and organizational resilience, identifying potential overlaps.


The Resilience Grid – Presenting various examples of resilience grids for individuals and organizations.


Encouraging participants to complete a grid to outline strategies for enhancing resilience in both aspects.


Cultivating Emotional Intelligence – Exploring key facets of emotional intelligence that yield immediate benefits for interpersonal communication and resilient behavior.


In-depth exploration of five pivotal emotional intelligence skills to enhance personal performance.


Empowering Others for Resilience – An interactive activity exploring opportunities to support and motivate others in enhancing their personal resilience.
