Understanding Harassment & Bullying

Course Objective:
To highlight the importance of maintaining a workplace environment that is free from harassment and bullying,
promoting respect, safety, and well-being for all.


Key Learning Areas:

  1. Defining Harassment
    – Harassment refers to any behaviour that is unwanted by the recipient, regardless of the intent behind it.
  2. Defining Bullying
    – Bullying is characterised by intimidation that is either persistent or occurs as a one-off incident, which undermines the confidence, competence, effectiveness, or integrity of the individual targeted.
  3. Understanding the Impact
    – Explore the emotional, psychological, and physical effects such behaviour can have, including stress, illness, anxiety, and humiliation.
  4. Recognising Your Responsibility
    – Learn how to play an active role in preventing and addressing harassment and bullying by:
  • Challenging inappropriate behaviour
  • Setting clear behavioural standards
  • Supporting colleagues in maintaining a respectful work environment
